Activities to try at home

Tiny Happy People have produced a series of short videos with suggestions for games and activities you can do at home, which will support your child with a range of skills. They are fun and easy to do. Take a look here

My Journey Hampshire offer advice about travelling to school safely. 'Not only is your child embarking on their first taste of infant, junior or secondary school education, but they are also going to a new location which involves an unfamiliar and new journey. Here you will find information and resources to support you with planning a safe, active journey to your new school'. Take a look at their journey planning resources here.

Getting Ready to Start School

Attached below is a link 'getting ready to start school'  as well as the Hampshire School Readiness document. Both of these provide great guidance on the fundamental skills which should be happening before any curriculum learning can take place. These are everyday things which will support your child's learning, awareness and development and can be completed by giving them experiences, being outdoors and questioning absolutely everything! Try starting sentences with 'I wonder if...?' or 'What do you think...?' and then allow them to think for themselves and be independent!
